Communicative competence: A pedagogically motivated model with content specifications

Teachers should know that a language knowledge is what needs to be learned for writers and teachers. The more detailed the competence is the better for teachers and educatos can do pedagogically.
Canale mentioned about, Grammatical competence,Sociolinguistic competence, Discourse competence and Strategic competence and all its definitions. According to Shachter behavioral objectives lead to problems for testing.

CMDT’s Model:
Linguistic Competence: not narrowly grammar
Strategic Competence: efficiency and recovery
Sociocultural Competence: non-linguistic knowledge
for appropriate deployment of linguistic resources
Actional Competence: carrying out/understanding
communicative intent by performing and
interpreting speech acts and speech events
Discourse Competence
Is good to know what these types of competence are and how they relate to each other. Some linguistic items are words, structures, sentences.
